Two Leafy Birthday Cards

The photo collage at the current Ellen Hutson Pin-Sight Challenge inspired me. Look at it:

The colors are so pretty but I probably wouldn't have thought of using them on my own! To match them as closely as possible I actually used paint chips (is that what they are called? I am drawing a blank...) Cut some leaves and and while playing around found two layouts that I liked. So I cut more leaves and made two cards. The first one uses the sketch from CAS Colors and Sketches #166.

Introducing card no. 1...

And a different view so that you can better see the gold foil cardstock...

Stamp: Winnie & Walter (sentiment), My Favorite Things (background)
Dies: Essential by Ellen (leaf), birthday unknown
Other: gold mirror cardstock (Marco's)

Coming up... card no. 2...

Materials used the same except the background stamp is by Impression Obsession and the tiny "Happy" is by Hero Arts.
For some reason I felt like mounting the panel at an angle.

What do you think?

I am so glad you came over for a visit! Hope your week is going to be fabulous!

Hugs,

Love both of these, Susanne! Great idea stamping the little "happy" vertically--never would have thought to do that!

Two beautiful cards Susanne. LOVE your pretty leaves. And they look AMAZING on both the woodgrain background and on the stamped flower outline background. xx

I think both cards are really lovely, Susanne. Using paint chips is the perfect way to utilize one family of colors, and I love the gold too. Sweet skewed panel; that was a great idea. You've really captured the inspiration photo perfectly. LOVE those leaves!! Bev

Die Blattstanzen machen sich ganz toll auf dem Holzoptik Papier und die dezenten Farben gefallen mir auch sehr gut!

Well done, Susanne! They are both so pretty!! Did you change your blog look recently or months ago? It seems new to me, but I might be crazy! I like it! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

I would not have thought of combining these colors either, but WOW! you sure have done 2 really gorgeous CAS cards, so colorful too, even with a lot of the neutral background. Love the design of each one, and the gold sentiments look so elegant with the other styles. I really like the way you've overlaid these cut leaves on the wood-grain background. (ditto the Rose one!) So stylish, and the ombre shades of the leaves are so pretty! TFS & Hugs

Forgot to say: What a splendid & clever way to use up those paint chips! I've collected a bunch for years, never know what to do with them, after bringing 'em home! LOL
