SSS Wednesday Challenge "Tag It"

Happy first day of Fall! It's also our anniversary!

My card today (is not an anniversary card) but features fall colors, more precisely the new colors from Stampin' Up (thanks to my friends). I started it one recent Thursday stamping night. We set out to CASE a card but then I went in a completely different direction. I wanted to use an embossing folder with dies from Cuttlebug that L had given us that night. The EF comes with the tag die and different border dies.

Stamps: Stampin' Up (flower), Hero Arts (sentiment)
Paper: Stampin' Up
Other: Cuttlebug (EF and dies)

Since it features a tag I am entering it in the current Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Tag It".

Now please help me welcome two new followers:

Kristie from Kreative Kristie
Sarah from Funky Fossil Design

Click on the links to visit their blogs. They are full of inspiration!

I always welcome my new followers with a quote and because both are mothers I picked one that I have to remind myself regularly:

There is no way to be a perfect mother...
but a million ways to be a good one!

Thanks for following my little blog. Hope you like what you see here.

Hugs,
Susanne

Surprise!!! Happy Birthday, Bev!!!

There is a big party going on in blogland today! We are all doing a happy dance in celebration of Bev's birthday! Bev is one of the kindest and warm-hearted people in the crafting community! She has 20 grandkids and loves them all to pieces which you can feel in her posts. If you don't know her, just visit her blog "Happy Dance" and you'll see what I mean not to mention all the inspiration you'll find. (You can thank me later)

She is usually the one who throws the most elaborate parties in blogland and I am so happy that Darnell is doing the same for Bev today. Hop on over to the Playhouse for some yummy drinks, delicious cupcakes and lots of chuckles. Since Darnell's blog is busy with her NBUS #2 challenge, the linky party is over at Ardyth's blog "MASKerade". Ardyth is a pro at this and will leave it open for 2 weeks so that you all have time to make a card for Bev and link it up.

Bev, I hope you have a wonderful day! Big hug!

Stamps: Penny Black (Everyday Happiness)

And now, if you'll excuse me, I am joining my friends at the Playhouse for some serious partying. I am taking my card with me as the stamps were NBUS!

ETA: My friend c kindly suggested that I enter this card in the Fusion Challenge "Shiny Pink" which I am doing now.

See you there,
Susanne

Addicted to CAS #47 - SSS Wednesday Challenge - NBUS #2 - SSS Monday Challenge

Today I have two very different cards for you - one is soft and subtle the other bold and colorful.

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by everything (ancient) chinese: calligraphy, medicine, philosophy, etc. I have quite a collection of asian stamps and supplies but rarely use them because I never know who to send it to. When I saw that the cue word at Addicted to CAS was "Oriental" I just had to make a card.

Stamps: Judikins (crane and calligraphy)

For the next card I rubbed Gelatos over gessoed paper, spritzing it with water, adding golden splatters (can't seem to make a card without them at the moment), adding Heavy Gloss Gel over a stencil then diecut feathers from it.

Stamps: Hero Arts (sentiment)
Die: Simon Says Stamp (feathers)
Stencil: TCW

I am sending this to the following challenges:

Darnell's NBUS #2 (have never used the feathers)

Simon Says Monday Challenge (feathers are from SSS)

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (Make your own background)

As always, thank you for your visit and your sweet comments - they make me so happy!

Have a great week,
Susanne
