Felt and Canvas

A big thank you to Joanna who is the host of this month's CAS Mix Up Challenge and the rest of the design team for making me dig out my felt and even a sheet of canvas that I got from a friend a long time ago to make this super simple card.

Stamps: Uniko (sentiment)
Dies: My Favorite Things (flower and leaves), SSS (stitched rectangle)

Wasn't sure if I could die cut the canvas because it was thick but it worked with a little help from some scissors. Lolls advice of backing the felt with some light card stock was a good one! The canvas was printed with different butterflies, moths, etc. in different sizes. Some of them were partially colored. The trick was to find a piece that would work for this relatively small rectangle.

Two Cards in Blue and Yellow

It seems that a lot of stamp companies are celebrating an anniversary at the moment. Made these cards for two of them. Didn't make them on the same day but the color combo really makes me happy and it fit so well for the theme of the second card so I used it again. The blue inks are from Altenew.

Stamps: Winnie & Walter (sentiment, sun), Hero Arts (background)

Was planning to use some Washi tape down the side but in my large collection of Washi tapes I couldn't find one that worked!!!

Stamps: Papertrey Ink (stripes from the Ombre Builders and swirl from the Scribble Circles), Hero Arts (sentiment)
Die: Gina Marie (stitched rectangle)

The stripes would stamp smoothly no matter how often I inked them. Don't know if it is the stamp, the inks or the paper. Decided to call it distressed look and use them anyway.

Valentine's Day Hugs

Sending you all lots of Valentine's hugs!

Stamps: Winnie & Walter (sentiment, multifaceted)
Dies: Winnie & Walter (hugs), My Favorite Things (scalloped panel)

The colors look a little different on screen. The card is a soft pink. The layer is dark brown, splattered with gold, the sentiment gold embossed. The word die is cut from watercolor paper, gold embossed with the background, and watercolored in different shades of pink. Really wanted to use the glass beads that I've had for ages. Wasn't easy to shape a heart from glue...

Twofer Card Challenge #2

We were blown away by your enthusiastic response of the first Twofer Card Challenge and hope this month's prompt will inspire you even more! Here it is...

I tried to see if I could use the little stamps that come in stamp sets and are often neglected and make them the stars of my cards. I used the same size little heart in the Hero Arts "Prayers" set (see below) to make the four-leaf clovers on the first card and the background behind the letters on the second card.

Stamps: Hero Arts (hearts), Uniko (sentiment)
Dies: My Favorite Thing (mini scalloped rectangles)
Other: butterfly (punch), hand drawn (stems, ladybug, and grass)

The first card has a layered look and even uses some patterned paper.  I created a little scene featuring four-leaf clovers, a hand drawn ladybug (covered in glossy accent and a butterfly punched out from a scrap that was sprayed with shimmery blue. The panel is layered on a red panel and mounted with fun foam on a die cut layer of polka dotted paper.

Stamps: Hero Arts (hearts and sentiment - from the prayer set)
Dies: Essentials by Ellen (hinged alphabet), Sweet 'n' Sassy (red heart), My Favorite Things (dotted chevron)

The second card is more CAS with lots of white space. I die cut the new-to-me hinged letters from Ellen Hutson (so, so cool) and the dotted chevron border, stamped the hearts in red and purple on the card underneath, and attached the panel to the card. Stamped the sentiment on a heart die cut from red card stock and sprinkled more hearts in three different sizes around it (the purple one above the big red heart is the same one I used to make the background behind the letters and the four-leaf clovers). I put Stickles on the little purple heart and Glossy Accents on the small red one to add a little interest.

I really hope that I have inspired you to play along this month and can't wait to see the different designs you create using a heart stamp or die! Remember to take one picture of both cards. And now hop over to the Twofer Card Challenge to see the spectacular designs that my team mates came up with!

I am going to enter my second card to the
STAMPloration February Challenge "Paint it Red"

and to the

(Isn't that frog the cutest ever?)

ETA: I was encouraged on Instagram to enter the second card at the

Baby Girl

It's been a long, long time since I needed a baby card, so I had a lot of fun creating and personalizing this one for a little girl. I got the elephant theme from a quilt the mother and her cousin made that featured an elephant. What a great excuse to finally use this cute one that was a gift from a friend and has been patiently waiting  in my NBUS box for it's moment to shine. Same goes for the welcome die.

I used products from lots of different companies to make this card. It makes me happy when they play nicely together. *wink* The background is watercolored.

Stamps: Inkadinkado (letters)
Dies: Impression Obsession (welcome), Memory Box (tags), SSS (balloon), Cottage Cutz (baby elephant), My Favorite Things (hill)

Challenges:

Inkspirational #153 "Word Prompt: Attachment"
The balloon is attached to the trunk, plus a baby is very attached to it's mother in the first months...
