Happy Summer!

With this little card I wish you (in the northern hemisphere) a very happy summer and hope you enjoy every minute of it! Stamp sets from several different companies played very nicely together on this card. Don't you wish that people (especially politicians) would do the same...?

Stamps: Stampin' Up (sun, watermelon from an old, retired set), Technique Tuesday (sentiment), Lawn Fawn (ants), My Favorite Things (gingham, wooden backgrounds)

And since some of you really enjoyed the pictures in my last post I am going to show you some more of the beautiful city of Nuremberg:

Did you know that there are over 1,000 different kinds of bread in Germany? This display looked so gorgeous...
Next time I'll show you some photos of my hometown which is much smaller and not as famous but still pretty.

Tissue Paper Circles

And as promised in my last post, here is the other card I made using this glittery tissue paper. It matches the sketch at the current Inkspirational almost perfectly but I have to admit that I made the card before I even saw the sketch. How is that for a coincidence?

Stamps: STAMPlorations (sentiment)
Dies: Nestabilities (circles)

And some more photos from our trip. We went to Nuremberg for a day. Beautiful city. Hadn't been there in decades.

Tissue Paper Angel

At the CAS Mix Up Challenge this month we are to use Tissue Paper. I watched Loll's video where she showed us different ways to use it. I do want to try those but my first thought went to some tissue paper that I couldn't throw away but didn't know what to do with, either.

Stamp: Hero Arts (feather)
Dies: Alexandra Renke (angel with heart), SSS (stitched rectangle)

When I was in Germany I finally got some things from Alexandra Renke, amongst them this adorable angel! With a glue stick I glued the tissue paper on some white card stock, cut out the angel with the heart, colored the heart with a sharpie, and covered it with glossy accents.

I made another card with the same tissue paper so please check back in! I am really excited about this technique as I can't throw out beautiful tissue paper!

Before I let you go I want to show you a photo I took on a hike we did in the first week of our vacation. It was south of Munich near Tegernsee where one of my nieces lives.

I'm back! With a fern card...

Thank you so much for your patience. After my return from Germany I did not have any mojo. It was worse than other years. I even played with the idea of giving up blogging! I realized how much time I spend just commenting... But then missed you all, started making a few cards and now I'm back.

Over at Time Out Challenges we are to CASE one of Cornelia's cards and it motivated me to take out this tree ring stamp AND the fern die from my NBUS box. To be honest I have two boxes, one for stamps (which is bursting at it's seams) and one for dies. Why do I keep buying stuff, people??? Stamp companies, if you are reading this, please stop bringing out such fun products that I can't resist! Bloggers, please stop inspiring and tempting me! (Just kidding, of course!)

First Cornelia's fun card:

And here is my take:

Stamps: Concord & 9th (treerings), SSS (sentiment)
Die: Memory Box (fern)

I cut out the fern from a scrap leftover from the first card in this post. Have I ever mentioned how much I love ferns? That's why I really wanted the Memory Box die (which is probably discontinued by now) and now I am so happy to have finally used it. As well as the tree rings and the sentiment was also in that NBUS box. I think this would be a good card for my husband's birthday, hmmm...
