Keep Smiling...

First of all, let me welcome my new follower

Christine of Stempel-Wahn

Check out her blog, you will be inspired by her beautiful cards!

Today I am showing you a card I made with one of my first stamps. I bought it in the children's section of a bookstore on my first trip to the US. I just love grinning faces and was immediately charmed by Sandra Boynton's greeting cards. So when I found a stamp featuring her grinning cats I had to have it. Looking at them cheer sme up. I grinned the whole time I was making that card. To be honest, though, I haven't used the stamp much. Especially lately. But I wanted to make a card for a cat-loving person with a great sense of humor.

Inside sentiment: "Sunshine is good for your teeth"

Used some Distress Inks with a Tim Holtz stencil, then clear embossing paste over that, sprinkled with gold glitter. The rest is self-explanatory, I think. Let me know if you have any questions.

Stamps: Sandra Boynton (cats with sentiment),  Hero Arts (background)
Other: Stencil (Tim Holtz)

You Are A Star

Made another card with the set "True" from Winnie & Walter, this time with the star. And a background made with water soluble crayons. Added some shimmer to the stars as you can see better in the close up. And I am happy that I found several challenges it works for!

On the inside I will write: "Let your light shine"

Stamps: Winnie & Walter (stars, word "star"), Uniko (rest of the sentiment)
Other: Water soluble crayons (Caran d'Ache)

Love You For W&W Rerun

Hello there,

Winnie & Walter have a rerun every month where they put the spot light on an older stamp set. You can play along even if you don't have that particular set by using any of the cards made by the DT as your inspiration. But, oh surprise, I do own this month's rerun set "True" and was more than happy to bring it out to play.

Stamps: Winnie & Walter (heart)
Die: PTI (love)

The hearts are silver embossed on grey card stock, then filled with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. The love die is cut out from a piece of glossy glitter paper by Recollection, mounted on vellum (with the heart raised).

Very CAS Bird Card

Wanted to play in the June Mix It Up Challenge where we are to combine Essentials by Ellen with Technique Tuesday products. So I dug out those fun chickadees and made this very CAS card. It took me, of course, much longer to make than it looks like... Did some paper piecing, watercoloring the shadow, added some washi tape, and die cute a speech bubble for the sentiment (which is from the Mondo Magnolia set).

Stamps: Technique Tuesdays (bird), Essentials by Ellen (sentiment)
Die: Lawn Fawn (speech bubble)

My third choice is either fussy cutting (the bird body), paper piecing, and/or washi tape (the last two are not on the list...)

Brick Wall Birthday Card

Yesterday I finally had a bit of time to craft and so I have a card to share today! It was more fiddly than usual but I do like how it turned out. The little banners cut out the letters and I thought it looked better when I inserted them again in another color rather than leave them empty.

Stamps: None!!!
Dies: Poppystamps
Other: Brick stencil (TCW)

Challenges (as always, click on the links to be dazzled by what the DT created and by the gallery and to find out the rules on how to play along):
