Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything goes

Hello,

Just wanted to share my card for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything goes".

I made this card with my Stamping Friends. We have been getting together on Thursday evenings for more than a decade making cards, chatting, laughing and eating dessert. I am lucky, aren't I?

We made the background scribbling watersoluble crayons on watercolor paper and wiping them with a baby wipe, a technique that I saw somewhere in blogland but don't remember where so I can't give credit. Sorry! I love the effect and it is so easy. I stamped the background again on the same pink cardstock (sorry, it looks more red on the screen) as the card and cut out the Eiffel tower. I added a little flag with the word dream. I shimmered the flag with a Wink of Stella pen, but that's really hard to capture on a picture.

And now it is time to welcome new followers! Check out their blogs, they are full of inspiration!

I have only recently "met" Cathy and found already lots of inspiration on her blog

Victoria Highland (I didn't find a blog from you. If you have one please let me know so I can tell people to visit you!)

Ardyth Percy-Robb of MASKerade
This is another blog that I have been drooling over for many months. She has her own style and I just love her use of rainbow colors, sparkle and modern simplicity.

Darnell Knauss of djkardkreations
It seems to me that everyone in blogland knows and loves Darnell! She has a way with words like no other! I have been reading her blog for a long time and I can't tell you how often she has made me chuckle or laugh out loud with her stories. And she always has a creative take on the challenges out there. She was also very kind and helped with some blog "etiquette".

And here is my a quote from Vincent van Gogh to warmly welcome you and thank you for following me:

If you hear a voice within you say "you cannot paint" then by all means paint, and the voice will be silenced.

Wishing you a great week and lots of time to create,

Susanne

Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Wednesday Challenge

Hi there,

One of my hobbies is photography and before I stamped my cards I used photographs to make cards. I still like to do that but now I combine pictures with stamps and diecuts, etc. I recently bought this "happy" die (among other things) from Simon Says Stamp! and used it on my husband's birthday card. I know it is very simple but that's what he likes. I didn't choose this photo because it is so amazing but because it is the view from our campsite that we are lucky enough to get almost every summer and because it had lot of sky and worked well with the die. (Sorry, the picture of the card is not the best. It looks much better IRL.)

I would like to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Wednesday Challenge where we should use something that is available at their store.

Have a great week with lots of time to create,

Susanne

CAS-ology #62

Hello crafty friends,

This is my first time playing with CAS-ology and I am entering this at the last minute. This weeks theme is "arrow" and I really wanted to use one of those arrow embellishments that have been collecting dust on my desk. Well, I ended up not using it... Here is my card with a "homemade" arrow:

Hard to see but true: The colored triangle is covered with clear Paper effects by DecoArt.

Have a great weekend,

Happy Fall Birthday

Hello again!

First, let me thank you all for your kind comments for this card! I am so glad you liked it and that you took time to let me know!

And since you liked the last fall card, I have another one for you. I made it for the little bookstore that sells a few of my cards.

It is pretty self-explanatory, I think, but if you have any questions, please let me know. I don't know if you can see that I punched tiny maple leaves from the patterned paper and put them on the tree. Also some of the leaves I glittered.

I am very happy to be able to welcome 4 new followers! Please check out their blogs for they are all longtime bloggers and you will find tons of inspiration there.

Thank you, ladies, for following a total beginner who is still trying to figure out this blog thing. And here is a quote for you from Mother Theresa, whom I admire greatly:

Every act of love is a work of peace no matter how small.

Have a great day and make some time to create!

Susanne

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Emboss it!

Hello again

I am back with a card for this weeks Simon Says Wednesday Challenge. They want to see embossing - heat and/or dry.

I used the woodgrain embossing folder by Tim Holtz for the layer. The trees are stamped in a light color (went over the trunks and grass with markers) and then I colored the dots with different colored pencils. Some of the dots are then glittered with a rust colored glitter and most of the others are covered with clear paper effects. Here is a close up:

Thanks for visiting! Hope you find some time to create today!

Simon Wednesday Challenge and my first follower

Hello again,

Time to celebrate! I have my first follower! Its Cornelia of Stempel Spass/fun stamping. I have been inspired by her blog for quite a while now, so you should definitely take some time to check it out! She always welcomes new followers with a beautiful photograph that she has taken and another blogger (Darnell of djkardkreations), that I love to visit, greets her followers with a sweet and often witty remark. Since I am not nearly as good with words as she is but still want to do something special, I thought I could post a favorite quote. I love and constantly collect quotes and sayings. So here is one by Nadia Bolz-Webe

"And isn't life just too short, too sacred, and too important to skimp on joy?"

Ok, but I also have a card to show and that I would like to enter to the Simon Wednesday Challenge where the theme this week is "Animal Antics". Coincidently my card features another saying that might come in handy some day, you never know...

The inside says: ... for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
It always makes me chuckle!

Now, I have been stamping for a very long time so you might see some older stamps here, that might not be available anymore but I still like them and want to use them. I hope you don't mind and that it might even inspire you to dig out your older stamps and show them some love!

Thank you for visiting!

CFC 113 take two

Hello again!

Another card for the CAS-UAL FRIDAY 113 challenge of "kraft and type", that I made out of scraps of yesterdays card. It practically made itself which doesn't happen very often.

CAS-UAL FRIDAYS

Hello!

Today I have a card for another challenge! Yes, I am surprised myself! This time it is for CFC113 to combine kraft and text.
Players Badge

And this is what I made (I hope it is CAS enough...)

I absolutely love the newspaper print background from Hero Arts. You might see it often... In the center of the flower is a holographic dot. I like them because they make mailing easy.

Hope you have time to create something today!

CTS #43

Hello and welcome!

After many months of thinking about starting a blog I am finally just doing it! Please bear with me as I am trying to figure this out!
I made a card for a sketch challenge which is another miracle (I love sketch challenges, particularly this one, I just never get around to making a card in time!) It is for Case this sketch

And here is my card

and a close up so that you can see the sparkle on the butterfly (wink of stella pen) and the paper piercing.

The stamp is from Stampin' Up (sorry, don't know the name of the set) that my friend D let me use. I used all scraps which makes me totally happy! The blue of the card is actually a little different.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you will come back!

Susanne
