Muse Challenge #78 / SSS Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes"

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I have the house to myself and plan to do as much crafting as I can! Last night I made a card for the Muse Challenge #78 where sweet Bev from Happy Dance is this week's Muse. Look at the beautiful card she provided for our inspiration:

I have been wanting to make a card featuring one of those popular polaroid frames for a long time! Thank you, Bev, for providing the motivation! Besides the frame I also used striped DP and the scalloped edge from her card.

Stamp: My Sentiment's Exactly
Paper: S.E.I.
Dies: Nestabilities (Squares), My Favorite Things (scalloped edge)
Embellishments: McGill (butterfly punch), Prima (flower), Making Memories (Brad)

It's so easy to match papers when you use a paper pad because designers did all the work for you! Since I don't have a polaroid frame die I used a square die and then cut around it. The brad was a lucky find from my stash. Had to add the butterfly because I felt that big flower needed some balance...

And now, as promised, a few impressions of Venice. Despite being overrun by tourists it is breathtakingly beautiful and has an unique charm! We all loved it! The last photo was taken by my niece (hope you don't mind, Ines) and shows my sons and I (or is it my sons and me - I never know!  Help, English majors/teachers!).

And, no, they are not (yet) as tall as I am; we were standing on an arched bridge...

Off to link up and make another card...

So glad you came by,

Susanne

Oh, Venice looks wonderful! (my son is taller than I am and it's only a matter of months before my daughter will be too - they both have bigger feet than I do - all of this thanks to my 6 ft 4 inch hubby! lol!) Love how you've used the layout of this week's Muse with your own colour combination - so glad you joined us!

Your photos of Venice: awesome! I visited that stunning city years ago. I just adore the bridges and waterways. The photo of you and your sons: a handsome pair they are! Memories created...Your card is so sweet with the pretty papers, the big bloom and the darling butterfly! A charming case of Bev's card (still working on mine...bike races every day this weekend - and it's a long weekend, so that's three days' worth). As for "sons and I" and "sons and me" - I wrestle with the correct use as well - and I'm a former high school English teacher! Grammar-schmammer - we know what you mean!

Oh Susanne! Thanks for "taking" us along on your vacation! I'm afraid for now at least, this is the only way I'll see Venice; thanks so much for sharing these photos! WoW! Beautiful family too. And sweet friend, I'm so glad you played along at Muse. This is a wonderful CASE of my card! That brad is utterly perfect here - love it! SEI makes such awesome papers too. You've outdone me with this card. Love it!! Thanks for your kind words too. You've made my day. Bev
