This is already the 40th challenge at the Muse Card Club where everyone can vote for their three favorite entries but it's the first time for me to play! But how could I not? This week's muse is the one and only Darnell and not only did she provide a beautiful card to inspire us but also wrote a thought provoking post. Take some time and read it here. So how could I not make a card? First Darnell's inspiration:
And here is my card:
I wanted to use torn paper, not only because I love the look of it (at one time I was know amongst my stamping friends for the torn paper look) and hadn't used it in a while but also because of the symbolism that Darnell wrote about in her post. The vellum I used once covered some chocolates and I just couldn't throw it out. It is not wrinkled like it looks on the photo but has a pattern on it. (Wish I would remember which chocolates they were...)
Have a great weekend and hope you take some time to create something, maybe even for the Muse challenge...

Gorgeous - I love the inset flower and the upcycling of your chocolate wrapper (I know it was a real sacrifice to eat the chocolate so you could use the paper - hee, hee!) Thanks for joining us at Muse this week, Susanne!
Thank you, Susanne, not only for playing along with MUSE and CASEing my card, but for all your lovely compliments, as well! Your card is heavenly. I adore the inset poppy in the soft pearl colors and your tearing is perfection! I can see why you were known as the expert with it! Everything about your card is stunning, right down to the recycling of the beautiful chocolate paper! Chocolate, as everyone knows, is the polar opposite of "C" word and plays a huge role in helping us getting through anything life throws at us! Hugs, Darnell
Na, dann muss ich ja fuer Deine Karte waehlen - super ist sie geworden!

Simple, elegant and just lovely, Susanne ... a wonderful take on Darnell's muse! Anita (in France) :)
Susan...thank you for your sweet comments on my blog! Your card is simply gorgeous...your flowers are so soft and sweet and your tearing is perfection. Love it.
I love your CASE of Darnell's card, Susanne. It's so soft and pretty. I'm glad you chose this to be your first time on the Muse challenge. I hadn't blogged in a while but had to do this challenge in honor of Darnell, as well as all the cancer survivors. Hope to see you again.
Lovely take on the muse card. Very pretty! :-)
