A warm hello to all of you stopping by here!
I am certain you all know Darnell ! Kind, generous, creator of acronyms as well as the NBUS challenges, and not only famous for her fabulous cards but of her humorous posts as well. Well, she is celebrating all kinds of milestones on her blog (you better click on over to read about them for yourself) with a new NBUS challenge, where she wants us to use not only Never Before Used Schtuff but, if possible, colored pencils on kraft! I tried it out and am very pleased with the result. My NBUS is the flower bouquet.
Stamps: Stampendous (flowers), SSS (sentiment)
Die: SSS (banner)
Other: Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils
Challenges (click on the links for more information and lots of inspiration from the DTs and the galleries):
The snowflake card I originally wanted to enter at the last Time Out Challenge but I completely forgot to post it! I had these blue circles lying on my desk from a different project and thought they would look good with a snowflake on top. This is how this card came about. The background is splattered with two different colors of blues and dry embossed.

Oh wow--love your cards, Susanne! Your coloring of the flowers is just amazing, as is that stunning card! Always love snowflakes--great design!
Love your kraft card Susanne, the blue tones are beautiful against the kraft background
Beautiful flower card, love blue on kraft. Looks stunning.
Two awesome cards Susanne. LOVE the pencil colouring on kraft. You have achieve so much shading ... really beautiful. xx
Superbes !

LOve your gorgeous blue blooms!!! Now why aren't there more in nature, I ask you? Fabulous card, Susanne!! xx
=]
These flowers are beautifully coloured and you have managed plenty of shading. We're all going to be using kraft more from now on! The snowflakes looks so good too.
Saw you over at Darnell's and had to get a closer look!! BEAUTIFUL!! I ADORE the blue on the kraft. It inspired me to try some blues and aquas on kraft, too!! (which I haven't blogged yet, so you'll have to come take a look a little bit later....lol...) The shading on your flowers is so pretty and I love the pearl centers!! Thank you for sharing and have a lovely weekend.

Hi! Commenting on your kraft card for Darnell/NBUS - it is gorgeous.
Beautiful cards. Love the blue flowers on the kraft CS. TFS
Blue and white is such a crisp combination and I like the layering of snowflake circles on the snowflake background. My favourite thing is the way you've subtly splattered the white background with some hints of blue. Thanks so much for joining us this time at As You See It.
Sorry - utter brain fade Suzanne. I meant of course, thanks for joining us this time at Retro Rubber!
Wowzers - that blue pops right off that kraft. Beautifully done!
Blue paper craft looks extremely. Great card!
Your floral bouqet is coloured so wonderfully. You have some very nice shadingand the flowers really pop!
Beautiful coloring, Susanne on floral card. Love the addition of pearls to it! Gorgeous!
Such a perfectly snowy card, love the dark blue circles to make the snowflakes pop and then the pale blue banner, I love blues.. Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber. Claire DT
Yay, two cards from you today! I love that snowflake design you did and will be pinning that, too, because I have a few of those orphaned snowflakes laying around! Thank you for the inspiration! And thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #8 and tackling the cp/k technique so beautifully! Wow! That flower image lends itself brilliantly to this technique, doesn't it?! And I am aswoon over your choice to make them cornflower blue with pearl centers! Scrummy! Hugs, Darnell
Your cards are just lovely!! Beautiful coloring on the pretty blue flowers! And, love all the wonderful snowflakes...great design!!
Those blue flowers are so vibrant
and lovely!
I think both of your cards are lovely. Each one showing such different techniques, and with wonderful detail. Great job.
Beautiful coloring -- love the blues!
Such lovely blooms, Susanne ... your colouring is fantastic ... and I love the soft yellow pearly centres! Crisp and texture-y snowflakes ... you've captured winter frostiness beautifully! Hugs, Anita :)
Sooo schön ist Deine Blumenkarte geworden, kommen auf dem cardstock so richtig schön zur Geltung. Und offensichtlich kannst Du doch Winterkarten noch machen, auch diese gefällt mir richtig gut!!
LG Gundi
Both cards are lovely Susanne! You have coloured the flowers beautifully on the first card (I only tried once and it didn't look so good, so I don't own any Kraft now), maybe I should give it another go now I have seen what yours has come out like! I love the added interest of the blue splatters on your dry embossed panel on the second! Have a wonderful week! Hazel xx
Hi Susanne, 2 gorgeous cards, love the pretty flowers, I think I have this stamp too, never used it but you've inspired me to ink it up! Have a great day, Cathy x
Adorable snowflake card! It evens looks cold! I love the embossed details and splatters! Your flower card is quite striking as well! Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber!!
Such pretty cards Susanne! just love those amazing blue flowers on the first one esp.Thank you so much for sharing with us over at 'The Flower Challlenge' and we hope to see you again soon ;) Viv DT xx
Gleich zwei Karten! Wunderschoen, diese Blümchen auf Kraft Papier! Die zweite Karte passt super zu den Inspirationsphotos!
Love both of your cards. I love the snowflakes and the embossing on the background! Just love all the details you added too. Thanks you for playing along with Retro Rubber!
Beautifully coloured and on Kraft too - something I struggle with a lot. I love how you've got such depth in the petals with the different shades of blue. Thank you for joining us at The Flower Challenge this month. Ruth DT xx
So pretty! Love your colors and texture!! Thanks for playing along with Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.
I too have scraps that stay on my table and then are used at a later dater. Great combo here! Thanks for playing along with Retro Rubber, come again soon!
Love this snowflake card, Susanne. Wonderful texture and color combination. Thanks so much for including Retro Rubber in your stamping fun this week. Hope you play often this year!
Loving the intricate detail soo much! Lovely card! Thanks so much for doing the RR challenge!
Ob Frühlings- oder Eisblumen, beide sind dir super gut gelungen!
SUSANNE! Umpteen apologies for being MIA, but January was a blur! I spent two weeks (just returned this week) at my mom's on a 'working visit': marking Gr. 12 students' English diploma exams. The seven days I was initially schedule for transformed into 12; long, intense days, but spending evening with my mom and, of course, my niece and nephew...priceless! Anyway...catching up with 'words' on what I've already admired through thought bubbles that I hope arrived your way! Two delightful cards! The snowflakes are so pretty, and given the snow we received last week, most fitting for this time of year. Your flowers on kraft! Oh my! I've only tried this technique once and after seeing your results here, I need to give it another go!
Hugs~c
