Twofer Card Challenge #7

We just returned from our yearly trip to Germany to visit family and friends and it is already time for the new Twofer Card Challenge! I especially enjoyed seeing the gallery last month filled with creative tree cards! This month the word prompt is

It doesn't matter if this makes you think of cold, refreshing or warm, comforting drinks, alcohol or soda - it's up to you (and your supplies)!

I played with the sweet tea set from Uniko. I really love tea (one of my favorites is a good Earl Grey) and wish that we had a place here that served a proper English tea with little sandwiches, etc. While in Germany I met a good friend at a tea house there. That was fun! Anyway here are my cards:

For the birthday card I embossed the cup with Antique Gold from SSS, added the flowers, colored them a little und cut the cup out. I backed it with a punched out oval of lavender colored vellum, added a layer of PP featuring little cupcakes, and an embossed panel. I was going for a Victorian look...

Stamps: Uniko (tea cup), SSS (sentiment)
Dies: PTI (border), SSS (banner)
Other: Taylored Expressions (embossing folder)

To make my other card look different, I stamped, colored and cut out three cups, added white enamel dots, and stacked them together. Added a bit of stenciling in the background, some Washi tape, and a sentiment from the tea set.

Stamps: Uniko (tea cup, sentiment)
Other: PTI (stencil), Washi tape

Now it's your turn! Which type of beverage will you choose?

Please find all the rules and lots of inspiration from my teamies as well as our two fantastic guest designers, Bonnie and Marianne on the Twofer Card Challenge blog

Be well and keep in touch!

Your single tea cup is just so pretty, Susanne ... delicate and lovely with the vellum, pp and texture ... and so evocative of 'English Tea Rooms'! Your Twofer is very cool ... those polka dot cups are deliciously retro on the bright yellow table cloth against that groovy stencilled background ... so fun! BTW ... if you're ever in the UK, check out Betty's ... tea (with all the trimmings) to die for! Hugs, Anita :)

Welcome home, Susanne! You so succeeded with the Victorian look you were going for with your beautiful gold-embossed tea cup! (I love the photo with the vintage ink pen to drive home the point!) The many layers were put down so beautifully! What a treat for the eyes to wander down through them to the underlying embossed base!

And your second card is a treat with the stacked polka dotted (love!) cups in many different colors! The grounded bottom, colorful border, and faint stenciled background are all perfect touches! Hugs, Darnell

Katrin

Love the elegant gold rimmed tea cup, Susanne! But the polka dots make me smile with their fun bright colors!

We were on the same wavelength Susanne! :) LOVE your beautiful tea cups. We have a few places here that serve "high team" and it's always so special to go and have delicious goodies and tea in china cups. Your first card looks just like a vintage tea cup. Great design with the scalloped doily of vellum and patterned paper in the background. Your second card is more casual. Love the stack of polka dot cups in bright colours. xx

Sweet twofers, Susanne! You nailed the Victorian look on your birthday card with the gold embossing and pp. Your second card is so fun. Love the white enamel dots and how you stacked them. x

I love the way you used that cup to create two lovely card designs. The first one is so gorgeous with the gold and floral design. And, I love how you used the same cup, decorated it with dots and then stacked them so perfectly. Great Twofers indeed!

I hope you had a wonderful time in Germany. I'm sure it's hard to leave, but also good to get home at the same time. A proper English tea sounds good to me. I'm surprised a tea house trend didn't catch on when the gourmet cupcakes became popular. Your cards are both wonderful and so different from each other! I love the Victorian look of your first card and those polka dotted stacked cups are so cheerful! I feel like when a new Twofer challenge begins we should say something like, "Happy Twofer!"

Welcome back, Susanne! It's always nice to see your family and friends back there, isn't it?
Oh, yes, the tea cup for the first card does have a Victorian-look with the antique gold heat-embossing and the delicate flowers.
The stacked cups for the second card are so fun and pretty with the white enamel dots against bright colors. The stenciling in the background is a nice touch too. Hideko xx

Such a pretty and Victorian style with your first beautiful card. Love the stacking on the second card and the delicate stencil work sets the tea cups off beautifully. Thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration x

The birthday cup is just so elegant, and what a delicate detail to add the fine gold trim just as the fine porcelain cups have. Pretty background dp too. #2 is lovely and I liked the extra attention with the dots on the trio of colors and the soft stenciling in the background. TFS & happy Sunday.

You definitely achieved a classic British, Victorian tea look with the first card, Susanne! I love the contrast with the modern feel and bright colors on the second card!
