Little Sailboat

We live by a rather large lake and I never get tired to look out at the blue water dotted with sailboats in the summer. But I have no desire to learn how to sail and own a sailboat! I wouldn't say no if someone invited me on their sailboat but otherwise I'd rather make a card featuring a sailboat!

Stamps: My Favorite Things (background), Hero Arts (sentiment)
Die: SSS (sailboat)

This is another salted watercolor wash that I made at the same time as the green one. I cut a wavy slit in it to tuck in the sailboat. Added some Stickles there to mimic the sparkling water. Doesn't the balloon string background from My Favorite Things look like the surface of water here?

Since the die and both stamps are NBUS I am sending this over to Darnell's challenge

NBUS #12

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Be well,

I LOVE your little boat and the clever way you tucked it into the water, great design, and . . . yes, that BG stamp DOES look just like waves! Have a great week! Luv & Hugs. Hazel xx

What a cool looking card, Susanne! Our dream is to live on a lake, but we like motor boating. I've been on a sailboat once--just too much work & moving around--at least on small ones.

Great card Susanne, I do love the background and how you've "grounded" (lol) the boat, very effective, Cathy x

This is so pretty, Susanne! I love the shades of the blue of the salted background. Cutting a wavy slit is a clever idea - the boat does look like floating on the water. The BG stamp (balloon string) was a great choice too. I'm jealous that you live by water!! Hideko

I thought it was a water background! Cute for balloon strings, too, but great for a background for an ocean scene! I love your sweet sailboat, Susanne! I'm with you on admiring them from afar rather than owning one! Thank you so much for playing again in my NBUS Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

Ich schaue auch lieber auf's Wasser, als mich darauf zu begeben.
Wunderschön gemacht mit dem Aquarellhintergrund!!

Such a sweet little sailboat, Susanne ... love that it's floating along with the waves lapping against the sides ... and yes, that background IS perfect, what a great idea! I'd love to be out there sailing (assuming the weather was warm!)! Hugs, Anita :)

This is so creative and fun Susanne. LOVE your salted background. Cutting the slit to tuck in your sailboat is so clever! The stickles give the water lots of movement. And very cool background. xx

Such a lovely sailboat card, Susanne! The boat/water panel is so striking, especially against that cool wavy background! I'm afraid that my enjoyment of your lake would take place from the shores only; water scares me!
