How are you all?
I am extremely pleased to have been invited as a Guest Designer for the May CAS Challenge "Inlaid Die Cutting" at Happy Little Stampers!
This technique is perfect for adding interest to your card without adding any bulk. I had lots of fun making these two cards!
Stamps: Impression Obsession (rose background), Uniko (sentiment)
Die: WPlus9 (heart), SSS (banner)
I die cut the heart from a panel, heat embossed the background in gold, sponged it with Distress Inks, laid it back into the panel, and taped everything on a card front. Added the heat embossed banner and some Glossy Accents to look like dew drops.
ETA: Loll suggested that I enter this card in this month's
CAS Mix Up Challgenge
My card features stamping, heat embossing, and die cutting.
And the second card:
Stamp: SSS (sentiment)
Die: SSS (you)
This technique is also perfect for those very delicate dies that are difficult to glue down. Here I used a watercolored panel (not the one from this post but created at the same time), cut out the "you", die cut it also from a piece of gold card stock, put it in the green panel and attached it to a card with foam tape. Before doing that though, I stamped the rest of the sentiment and added some gold splatters.
A heartfelt thank you to the folks at Happy Little Stamper CAS challenge for inviting me to be a Guest Designer! Check out what the fabulous Design Team came up with and then play along! Hope to see you in the gallery!
Be well,

Congrats on your tenure as GD for May over at HLSCC! How wonderful for you!! And your cards are amazing. The heart is absolutely stunning. The gold embossing and the banner is just wonderful. And the emerald and gold blew me away. Those colors and your design are both beautiful. Great way to start out your month at HLS. So pretty. Bev

Oh, and congratulations on your Guest Designer spot!
I love the technique, but seldom seem to use it. You've inspired me with your beautiful cards, Susanne! Congrats on being the GDT!
Wow, I love both cards but the first one - I just want to have :) So please write it down for an idead for your next card to me. Colors and design ist just amazing (just the sentiment need to be changed).
OMG! Both the cards are stunning , specially colours are just wow! But second one is my fav. Simply beautiful!
Congratulations on your GD spot at HLS, Susanne! Your cards are both spectacular ... the rich warm coloured heart with the gold embossing is stunning with the crisp white space around it, and the cool green with all the gold splatter is gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
Congratulations on your Guest Design assignment, and wow, did you have an elegant & so pretty design to show. Love the pink shades behind the gold swirls of this gorgeous inlay heart. And #2 is equally phenomenal, simplicity indeed, but oh so striking. LOVE both of these. Wonderful work on both of them, and your panels are just awesome! The inlays looked so good in both cards. Bet it was fiddly with the slender shapes of the sentiment in #2. TFS & Hugs
Cheering and applauding your GD role at HLS, and WOW! You've brought two beauties to dazzle and delight! Your pink/coral & gold heart: stunning! The emerald & gold: gorgeous! WOW factors, both!
hugs~c
