I know my title sounds like the beginning of a joke but it's not... Sorry.
Instead I have two cards to share with you, one featuring a mermaid the other a chef hence the title.
The mermaid card I started with my Thursday night stamping friends, also called the Cardologists, and finished at home. The stamps belong to one of my friends but I believe they are from Stampin' Up. I think this mermaid is very graceful and pretty. I glittered her tail with a shimmery gel pen and Stickles, used the latter to create a frame and added sequins. Very sparkly in real life! The background was created by sponging glossy card stock.

The second card I made for my German brother-in-law who is a fantastic baker and cook. When a friend gave me this stamp I though it would be perfect for him. It comes with a variety of accessories. I used the silverware to create a subtle background on the white card. The black panel is patterned paper from my stash.
Stamps: Loralie Art Stamps (chef), Create a Smile (sentiment)

BD cake a whole food group--I like that--haha! Great cards, Susanne! The mermaid is gorgeous--love the colors, sparkle, everything! Bet your BIL will love the darling chef card! Hope things have settled down for you after all the fun family activities. Sending hugs, Greta

Oder auch: die kochende Meerjungfrau :))) Spaß beiseite, die Meerjungfrauen-Karte sieht super schön aus! Und der Koch ist echt witzig :)
Ganz liebe Grüße
Christine
Ahhh- a mermaid and a chef walked into a bar.... who know what the punchline will be?!
Two great cards! I love the shimmer and the stitching on the beautiful mermaid card.
Thanks for joining The Library.
Two wonderful makes. Your mermaid is gorgeous... I can just imagine how stunningly sparkly it is IRL. Love sparkles! Your chef puts a smile on my face and I’m sure it will put one on your BIL’s too. It’s CAS...great card! x
Great cards. A great background you created for the lovely mermaid. Thanks for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday.
Love your mermaid card and your chef card is so cute! That’s a great image! Thanks for playing our Time Out challenge!
Fantastic shimmer on the mermaid scales, and I love the waving seagrass, with the scant silvery frame around the ocean scene. The chef is so cute (I'd never have had a clue as to a design with this!) and I really liked the imaginative silverware subtlety in the border. Very clever and how sweet to tailor make it for someone special. Good job on both! TFS & Hugs
Hahahaha ... birthday cake is most definitely a food group, Susanne ... this one looks scrumptious in the hands of that dapper chef! How fun to have the silverware in the background ... all ready to start eating ... yum! Your mermaid is dreamy ... gorgeous background and delicious shimmer ... you sure have steady hand with those stickles! Magical indeed! Thanks so much for bringing your party chef along to play with us at Time Out! Hugs, Anita :)
Two fantastic cards Susanne! LOVE the gorgeous mermaid on your amazing background. The colours are beautiful! And how clever to use the stickles to create a doddled frame. Very creative!!
Your chef is so adorable ... your BIL is going to love this! Another great design with the silverware stamped on one side. xx
Great stamped background! Love how you've poped-up the birthday cake to add the dimention! Thanks for playing along with us at The Male Room for the Birthday challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creative projects in the future galleries again.
Zwei wunderschöne Karten! Die mit dem Chefkoch finde ganz toll - er hat was französisches, findest du nicht? ;)
The mermaid and the ocean background are gorgeous, Susanne! The glittery accent on the tail is just the right amount, and the sponged color blending is so beautiful. Drawing a frame with Stickles is a fantastic idea.
The second chef card is awesome and (somehow) humorous! Love the subtle silverware pattern background! Your BIL is going to love the card! Hideko xx
Love the backgrounds on both cards, clever use of the cutlery stamp. Thank you for joining us with a masterful looking chef at The Male Room.
Susanne, I love your chef! You colored him perfectly, too. So glad you joined us at ATCAS this week
