Happy St. Patrick's Day

As far as I know I do not have any Irish blood but that doesn't stop me from exchanging cards on St. Patrick's Day with my Thursday night stamping buddies. Some years I don't manage to get any done because it's usually so close to Easter. This year this excuse didn't work, plus when I saw a recent sketch at Mojo Monday this idea popped into my head and wouldn't leave, so here it is...

Stamps:  Ivy frame (Stampin' Up), Celtic background (unmounted and unknown), sentiment (from the dollar bin at Michael's - old)
Other: shamrock punch, sequins

The shamrocks are punched out from gold card stock.

Challenges (click on the links for more information and lots of inspiration from the DTs and the galleries):

Addicted to Stamps #233 "Holiday"

Retro Rubber Challenge #58 "Anything Goes"
The frame is way older than a year, more like 10 years... Same for the background stamp and the sentiment...

Quick and Easy Masculine Birthday Card

If you every urgently need a birthday card for a young male relative but, to your great surprise, don't find anything suitable in your large stash of cards, here is an idea for you:

Take a piece of a saved tissue box (not the pink, flowery one), a big die, a matching sentiment stamp, a few pieces of washi tape, and a white card.

And you are ready to write your wishes inside, sign it, make the rest of your family members sign, and mail it!

There you have it!

(But then again, you are probably more organized and plan ahead and everything...)

Stamps: My Favorite Things (sentiment)
Die: My Favorite Things (Happy)

Warm mittens

I am back with a card I made for my sister. Don't know if she has received it yet but some of the challenges I made it for are closing soon!

My sister is an amazing knitter! She has knitted all kinds of complicated things for all kinds of different people. For Christmas she bought me some yarn (I got to choose) and helped me make a hat! Isn't she the sweetest?
So I thought these new-to-me stamps and dies would be perfect for her. Since the yarn I picked for my hat was grey and off-white I chose those colors for the card. Then, so it wouldn't look too blah, I added some blue accents.

Stamps: MFT (background on card), Impression Obsession (background on mittens), Winnie & Walter (sentiment)
Dies: MFT (mittens)

Challenges:

Mice in Love x 2

Sorry that it took me so long to post some new cards! Besides trying to catch up with everything here at home I have been creating. Some cards I can't post yet because I haven't heard that they have been received... Seems like the post offices are also still trying to catch up after the holiday rush.

The call for "Brads" over at Use Your Stuff had me look through my stash and find those heart shaped ones. The stamp is from one of the sets I won from Virginia. I stamped it twice, colored it, and then made two similar but different cards with it. I didn't add any sentiment as the image speaks loud enough, I think.
