Twofer Challenge #6

Are you ready for the Twofer Challenge #6? This month we want to see what you can do with trees!

I love trees. For me that's reason enough to buy every tree stamp and die I can! Just for fun I counted all the tree stamps I own and the result was 62!!!! And I was NOT even counting Christmas trees or any trees I might have in my NBUS box... Wow! I didn't expect that! Do you think I need therapy?
Of course that made the decision which tree to use really hard. What helped me was that I needed a retirement card and had this idea to use all four seasons on one tree. So I thought of this tree from Sarasota Stamps that comes with an extra foliage stamp (picture further down).

Stamps: Sarasota Stamps (tree and foliage), Avery Elle (sentiment), Impression Obsession (nest, apples)
Other: Snowflake (punch)

I used the foliage stamp to create a border. The card is 5 x 7 inches.

Stamps: Sarasota Stamps (tree), Hero Arts (cat, bats), Impression Obsession (spiderweb background)

On this card I used glossy paper for the panel and Distress Inks to create the background.

This is the tree stamp with the foliage stamp from Sarasota Stamps. I bought it many years ago at a convention I used to go to with my friends. I googled it and it's still available!

Here is a reminder what this Challenge is all about. For the exact rules and to check out the creations of the fabulous design team plus our guest designer Maria Rodriguez please click here.

Looking very much forward to seeing your cards in the gallery!

Be well and keep in touch!

What an amazing tree, Susanne! I love your creativity with showcasing all four seasons on one tree!! And I love that you made the card panel an integral part of your designs by stamping your retirement card with the foliage and your Halloween card with a spiderweb! (Note to self!) Your Halloween card is indeed very, very spooky! Well done!! Hugs, Darnell

WOW! I absolutely love how you used that stamp for 2 totally different cards, Susanne! They're both fabulous--love the all-over backgrounds you made! Now that is a lot of trees! I thought I had tons, but pretty sure you beat me!

What a great tree for all seasons you made. And, then making that same tree into a Halloween scene was perfect too. Great Twofers.

That's a lot of trees! But I understand the obsession to them, they are so fun and beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, I am loving the tree you used. The 4 seasons tree card is just stunning and such a clever idea! I love it. I also love your spooking Halloween card, the tree without leaves makes for a nice Halloween tree to add the the spooky feel. Love, love, love. Hugs, Brenda

Hello Susanne: What a fabulous Twofer cards. Love the 4 Seasons Tree, what a clever idea to add the nest, apples, Fall colors and Winter bare branches on your card.
The Halloween card is SPOOKY, love the dreary surroundings and the scary bats and cat.

Your chosen tree stamp (out of 62 or more!) worked out so well for both cards, Susanne! I can't believe the spooky Halloween tree is the same tree for the foliage retirement card. They look so different!
I love that you stamped the relevant images on the card base. The glossy paper with distress ink made a fabulous sky for the Halloween night too. Hideko xx

62 tree stamps??!! A girl after my own heart! :) Awesome ... but like you said makes it a little more difficult to design which one to use. Great choice. I LOVE the four seasons card for retirement. That is to creative. And the foliage makes a beautiful frame for your image too.

The Halloween tree is scary. :) Love the deep blue background with the bats and black cat. Great work Susanne! xx

What a great idea to have an all season tree, Susanne! Perfect for a retirement card! Love, love, love the Halloween background and how spooky the tree looks against it! Love the black cat too! If you need therapy, probably we all do. It's much more fun to spend that money on stamps though.

You say 62 tree stamps like it's a bad thing! We all know it's not. I love the idea of all four seasons showing on one tree. That is a very cool tree. The Halloween card is spooky with it's dark background and bright moon. Your stamped card panels really add to both designs.

I was in the middle of leaving you a comment 3 hours ago when my power went out! But the power just came back on. So where was I? Ah yes...

It may be only a hunch, but I think you love trees! Actually 62 of them to be exact! 😂 I can just imagine how difficult it was to pick one, but you chose splendidly! So creative to incorporate all 4 seasons into that retirement card! Then to take that same tree and create a haunting Halloween card with a glowing moon is brilliant! Wonderful twofers! xx

That's a lot of trees in one stash! I can see why you chose this one, though, it has great detail and works so perfectly for the four seasons. I love the little details like the nest and apples! Wonderful borders on both of your cards, and the glow of the moon and your inking really changes up the look of that tree! Fantastic twofer, Susanne!

What a brilliant idea to depict the four seasons on your retirement tree, Susanne ... fabulous little details among the different colours of seasonal foliage! Deliciously spooky second card ... you've made that full moon positively glow against the night sky! Love how you've tied the borders in with the panels on each card ... great continuity! Hugs, Anita :)
