Twofer Card Challenge 3

Thank you again for the many creative and inspiring entries in our heart challenge last month! Are you ready for the third Twofer Challenge? If you live in the northern hemisphere and you are getting a bit tired of winter you might be especially thrilled to play with our prompt this month:

I picked the Altenew set "Wild Hibiscus" and made a muted, monochromatic sympathy card and a very bright and tropical "Hello" (Aloha is Hawaiian for hello) card.

Stamps: Altenew (Wild Hibiscus), Papertrey Ink (sentiment)
Die: SSS (stitched rectangles)

What can I say? Just love grey. With white. And the sentiment on vellum.

Stamps: Altenew (Wild Hibiscus), sentiment unknown
Other: Papertrey Ink (stencil), washi tape, embossing paste

I had the stenciled panel and one orange blossom on my desk and they put me in the mood to go totally tropical! It's fun to look at this colorful card, especially during those grey winter months. I also enjoy the contrast between of the graphic patterns and the softer flowers. I stamped them on watercolor paper using Distress Inks and the colored them using the same inks.

ETA: Greta kindly pointed out that the second card would work for the current

Time Out Challenge #104 "Bold"
and it's true, it certainly is bold, hehe...

Now be sure to check out the amazing creations of my team mates! And for the first time we have a guest designer: Verna Angerhofer who won the January challenge! Please leave her some love! And then play along!

Be well and keep in touch!

Gorgeous, Susanne! The soft white blooms against the grey are so elegant ... a wonderfully serene look, perfect for a sympathy card! What a gorgeous riot of colour on your totally tropical blooms ... fabulous texture and dimension ... and a great contrast between the crisp lines of the stencilling and the soft edges of the blossoms! Bon weekend! Hugs, Anita :)

Beautiful ways of using the blossom design you chose. That is a gorgeous sympathy card with those colors and I love the more colorful look of the second card too. Great twofers!

Wow, Susanne--you've really shown the versatility of those flowers! I absolutely love the sympathy card & it's a totally different design than I've used for one! Thank you for the inspiration! Your aloha card is perfect for the Time Out challenge http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com/2018/03/challenge-104.html Have a great weekend, Greta

Gray. *sigh* Gray and white. *double sigh* That is one gorgeous sympathy card, Susanne. I love the soft, subtleness of this card. It is just beautiful. Love the bright colors of your second card. The stencil and the washi look like they were made for each other! Love that combo. And your watercolored hibiscus are beautiful and beautifully done. So much depth and texture to this card - love it! Great way to showcase the same stamp on two different designs. So pretty!!! xoxo Bev

Brilliant designs, Susanne! That gray and white is serene for the occasion, but not dark. I love how you paneled it and the way you hung your sediment in vellum! (Note to self!) Awesome how that old-fashioned beautiful ink pen made the perfect photo prompt!

And on the other end of the spectrum, your bright and warm Hawaiian colors, patterns, graphics, and soft flowers really light up Blogland! Amazing design elements!! Hugs, Darnell

However, the bold blue and tropical flowers totally capture the weather here at the moment, just stunning. Always wonderful to see you at TIME OUT!

Bises.

Going monochronatic was perfect for a sympathy card. Going bright and bold on your second card was the perfect contrast for your twofer. Two beautiful makes.

Katrin

You have rocked this challenge so splendidly (and I'm still wondering what I can do!) I love the sheer elegance of the gray with the white embossing that created such a stunning & subtle background. Don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful card done as a sympathy card. Just perfect. #2 with all the bold hot colors, the embossed raised graphic pattern and adding the wild black & white arty border...again, perfect for the Aloha sentiment! Well done! TFS & Hugs

Your sympathy card is so quietly lovely - and then you pack a punch with the colorful Aloha card - two beauties!

Oh my Susanne! You have come up with some real beauties here!! I love the soft grey for the sympathy card and the monochromatic colour combo, with the silver embossing on the vellum, all very tasteful! Perfect! The second one with the blue card base, the bright flowers (beautifully coloured), the stencilling and that fabulous black and white PP down the left hand side just screams tropical, and you are right, it does brighten a dull day! Fabulous makes my friend! Have a wonderful Sunday! Love & Hugs. Hazel xx

This is a soft, lovely sympathy card and I love the background made with the flower stamp. The aloha card is a fun, happy card. I do like the stenciling and the vellum greeting. The coloring on the flowers is beautiful.

Both cards are equally stunning and just beautiful! I will have to remember to try heat-embossing a vellum sympathy panel because it's a wonderful look! I also love the embossed background on your tropical card too! Great take on this Twofer challenge!
