Flowers and Snowflake

A warm hello to all of you stopping by here!

I am certain you all know Darnell ! Kind, generous, creator of acronyms as well as the NBUS challenges, and not only famous for her fabulous cards but of her humorous posts as well. Well, she is celebrating all kinds of milestones on her blog (you better click on over to read about them for yourself) with a new NBUS challenge, where she wants us to use not only Never Before Used Schtuff but, if possible, colored pencils on kraft! I tried it out and am very pleased with the result. My NBUS is the flower bouquet.

Stamps: Stampendous (flowers), SSS (sentiment)
Die: SSS (banner)
Other: Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils

Challenges (click on the links for more information and lots of inspiration from the DTs and the galleries):

The half pearls and banner are a light yellow in real life

The snowflake card I originally wanted to enter at the last Time Out Challenge but I completely forgot to post it! I had these blue circles lying on my desk from a different project and thought they would look good with a snowflake on top. This is how this card came about. The background is splattered with two different colors of blues and dry embossed.

Stamp:
Dies: Spellbinders (Circles), SSS (banner)
Other: Snowflake punch (Martha Stewart), embossing folder (Cuttlebug)

Challenges (click on the links for more information and lots of inspiration from the DTs and the galleries):

Retro Rubber Challenge #54 "Let it Snow"
Only the sentiment is stamped (if that is not enough please ignore my entry) but way older than one year)

Be well,

Superbes !

These flowers are beautifully coloured and you have managed plenty of shading. We're all going to be using kraft more from now on! The snowflakes looks so good too.

Saw you over at Darnell's and had to get a closer look!! BEAUTIFUL!! I ADORE the blue on the kraft. It inspired me to try some blues and aquas on kraft, too!! (which I haven't blogged yet, so you'll have to come take a look a little bit later....lol...) The shading on your flowers is so pretty and I love the pearl centers!! Thank you for sharing and have a lovely weekend.

Blue and white is such a crisp combination and I like the layering of snowflake circles on the snowflake background. My favourite thing is the way you've subtly splattered the white background with some hints of blue. Thanks so much for joining us this time at As You See It.

Yay, two cards from you today! I love that snowflake design you did and will be pinning that, too, because I have a few of those orphaned snowflakes laying around! Thank you for the inspiration! And thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #8 and tackling the cp/k technique so beautifully! Wow! That flower image lends itself brilliantly to this technique, doesn't it?! And I am aswoon over your choice to make them cornflower blue with pearl centers! Scrummy! Hugs, Darnell

Both cards are lovely Susanne! You have coloured the flowers beautifully on the first card (I only tried once and it didn't look so good, so I don't own any Kraft now), maybe I should give it another go now I have seen what yours has come out like! I love the added interest of the blue splatters on your dry embossed panel on the second! Have a wonderful week! Hazel xx

Beautifully coloured and on Kraft too - something I struggle with a lot. I love how you've got such depth in the petals with the different shades of blue. Thank you for joining us at The Flower Challenge this month. Ruth DT xx

SUSANNE! Umpteen apologies for being MIA, but January was a blur! I spent two weeks (just returned this week) at my mom's on a 'working visit': marking Gr. 12 students' English diploma exams. The seven days I was initially schedule for transformed into 12; long, intense days, but spending evening with my mom and, of course, my niece and nephew...priceless! Anyway...catching up with 'words' on what I've already admired through thought bubbles that I hope arrived your way! Two delightful cards! The snowflakes are so pretty, and given the snow we received last week, most fitting for this time of year. Your flowers on kraft! Oh my! I've only tried this technique once and after seeing your results here, I need to give it another go!
Hugs~c
