Spritzed Ferns with Dragonfly

Just popping in to show you a card I made recently.

The CAS Mix Up August Challenge inspired me to shake up my neglected spritz bottles. I picked a beautiful, shimmery green from LuminArte but after a test spritz it didn't work any more. The same has happened with my gold from the same brand that I now use only to splatter with a brush. Since several bloggers mentioned that they had good luck with the mini mister from Ranger and I had one, I poured some green into it,  and grabbed my fern stencil.

A close up to show you the shimmer

Stamp: Penny Black (script)
Other: Fern Stencil (TCW), Spritz bottles (LuminArte), Dragonfly (punch)

Afterwards I sponged the panel with Antique Linen DI, stamped it partly with a script stamp, splattered some gold on it, ran a brush dipped in the gold along the edges, and attached a dragonfly punched from some shimmery, textured paper. I backed it with some foam and attached it to a white card. I decided against a sentiment.

CAS Mix Up August Challenge
(I stamped, spritzed, sponged, splattered)
ETA: This card was voted Outstanding Design!

It felt so wonderful to finally take some time to play again!

Be well,

So glad you got a chance to have some artsy fun! Your stamped, spritzed and sponged card is gorgeous Susanne. I think some of those sprays just clog up the mechanism over time, so moving it to another sprayer is a good idea. Love the addition of the gold splatters and edging. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful card with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

First, I could totally relate to this Susanne! My spray bottles ALWAYS clogged over time and the amount of bottles I got through was unbelievable and I thought that all bottles were the same and that they would all clog eventually ... until, I too, thought, 'well, everyone says the Mini Mister is the bees knees, so I'll give it a try' . . . now I understand why ... not ALL spray bottles are born equal. So far, I haven't had one that has refused to spray and I use paint with a LOT of ground metal flakes in it and they have been refilled and a few times now and all spray without a stutter (sorry, I sound like an advertisement here!) Back to your card. I LOVE it, that stencil is just fabulous and that sweet little dragonfly is just darling! Great gold splatters too! Have a great day! Hazel xx
