For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by everything (ancient) chinese: calligraphy, medicine, philosophy, etc. I have quite a collection of asian stamps and supplies but rarely use them because I never know who to send it to. When I saw that the cue word at Addicted to CAS was "Oriental" I just had to make a card.
For the next card I rubbed Gelatos over gessoed paper, spritzing it with water, adding golden splatters (can't seem to make a card without them at the moment), adding Heavy Gloss Gel over a stencil then diecut feathers from it.
Stamps: Hero Arts (sentiment)
Die: Simon Says Stamp (feathers)
Stencil: TCW
I am sending this to the following challenges:
Darnell's NBUS #2 (have never used the feathers)
Simon Says Monday Challenge (feathers are from SSS)
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge (Make your own background)
As always, thank you for your visit and your sweet comments - they make me so happy!
Have a great week,
Susanne

I'm always amazed at the range of so many card artists in Blogland and you are one of those artists, Susanne! This post is an excellent example of that. I love both cards from the subtlety of the Asian grace to the bold colors and textures of the TOY card! Beautiful work, both!! Thank you so much for playing in my second NBUS Challenge!! Hugs, Darnell
Oh my goodness--I love your cards! I haven't used a JudiKin stamp in ages--you've inspired me! The feather card is so striking & beautiful!
Beautiful cards, Susanne! Love the gold embossed crane on red - perfect for the oriental challenge and the black feather silhouettes against the gelato background look fab. Cool techniques!
Wow, Susanne ... the elegance of the oriental DP with the gold embossed red crane is stunning ... and so is the vibrant background to those fabulous feather die cuts! Beautiful cards! Anita :)
Wonderful cards Susanne, I love your Gelato background against the black card, it's so striking.
Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Oh Susanne! These cards are beautiful. I especially like the first one.
Hugs and thanks for your kind words.

I have to agree with Darnell. You are an artist seeing simplicity in beauty or is it beauty in simplicity.
I'm a bit behind on commenting, but wanted to let you know how wonderful these cards are! That first one, with the crane, is stunning. There's an aura of gentleness about it; calm and sweet. Love that!! And the bright, bright colors of your second one... a delight to the senses. Awesome!! Bev
So pleased you got out those "little-used" stamps for our Oriental challenge Susanne - the Crane is stunning. Love the CAS layout. Thanks so much for joining us at ATCAS - Sylvia.
Two beautiful cards! I love the gold on the first one, awesome!
tolle Karten, ich finde die asiatischen Motive auch einfach schön, die 2 Karte hat einen super interessanten Hintergrund.
Susanne, your incredibly versatile style shines through this post! The oriental-themed papers and gorgeous crane make for a most stunning card. Your second - vibrant and bold - is magnificant! The die cut feathers...brilliant! WOW and WOW!
