Happy (belated) Birthday, Sandie!

Between the end of school year activities and starting a new job I have even less time to create. After an especially crazy week I really needed to recharge my batteries on Sunday by getting crafty...

I am terribly late (possibly the last) in wishing Sandie from London Days a very Happy 50th Birthday! But better late than never, I always think, and hope that Sandie will enjoy celebrating a bit longer!

Stamps: Happy Little Stamper (Happy Birthday), Avery Elle (belated)

My collection of washi tape has been whining that I keep forgetting about them and they were right, so I pulled them out. I honored Sandie's love of lot's of white space, CAS, and purple. The sentiment (in black) is from a set that I recently won from Happy Little Stampers. Love all the different fonts in that set! I added an assortment of purple washi tape and some flower gems.

There are two parties going on for Sandie and I am sending this card to both of them:

Sandie, I hope this coming year will bring you lots of wonderful things and always enough time to create and do what makes you happy!

Happy Retirement with Bird

I recently started working part time and almost at the same time one of the 7 Cardologists retired. This is the card I made for her and since she has received it, I can share it with you. You probably can guess what my inspirations was...

Stamps: SSS (happy), Winnie & Walter (retirement)
Dies: Memory Box (bird, branch), SSS (frame)
Other: Punch (Carl)

Time Out Challenge #56
Yes, you guessed correctly! It was this beautiful card by Kay Miller. I tried to keep the light and airy feel of it and also used the lovely color combination.

"Thanks a Ton" in Mint and Navy

Before I show you today's card let me welcome my new followers

and ra A (sorry, couldn't find a blog)

with this quote by David Steindl-Rast

It isn't joy that makes us grateful,
it's gratitude that makes us joyful.

Now to the card:
When I saw the colors for the new challenge at Inkspirational I immediately thought of the cute whale from Clearly Besotted and made this card:

Stamps: Clearly Besotted (whale, sentiment)
Other: Stencil (Memory Box)

If you click on the picture to enlarge it you will see the Stickles I added to the waves and the sentiment because I felt it needed something else.

Guest Designer for Happy Little Stamper May CAS Challenge

How are you all?

I am extremely pleased to have been invited as a Guest Designer for the May CAS Challenge "Inlaid Die Cutting" at Happy Little Stampers

This technique is perfect for adding interest to your card without adding any bulk. I had lots of fun making these two cards!

Stamps: Impression Obsession (rose background), Uniko (sentiment)
Die: WPlus9 (heart), SSS (banner)

I die cut the heart from a panel, heat embossed the background in gold, sponged it with Distress Inks, laid it back into the panel, and taped everything on a card front. Added the heat embossed banner and some Glossy Accents to look like dew drops.

ETA: Loll suggested that I enter this card in this month's

CAS Mix Up Challgenge
My card features stamping, heat embossing, and die cutting.

And the second card:

Stamp: SSS (sentiment)
Die: SSS (you)

This technique is also perfect for those very delicate dies that are difficult to glue down. Here I used a watercolored panel (not the one from this post but created at the same time), cut out the "you", die cut it also from a piece of gold card stock, put it in the green panel and attached it to a card with foam tape. Before doing that though, I stamped the rest of the sentiment and added some gold splatters.

A heartfelt thank you to the folks at Happy Little Stamper CAS challenge for inviting me to be a Guest Designer! Check out what the fabulous Design Team came up with and then play along! Hope to see you in the gallery!
